Hint #3: View skit scripts:
You can view the script of all the Z skits by going to Katz Island on Sylvarant and talking to the mayor (the cat that spins) several times. You can view the script for all the conversations, even ones you have not had yet.
Hint #4: Easy Gald:
Go to the city of Lzoold and go to the boat dock. Find your wanted poster at the dock. There will be a person in a pink cat suit here, Emo-Katz, and he or she will ask you to play "EB". Play it and choose easy for Apple Gels, normal for Life Bottles, or hard for Lemon Gels. You will get five of them if you win. You can do this as many times as desired. You can sell the Lemon Gels for 500 Gald at the shop above Emo-Katz. Play EB four times and win to get 20 Lemon Gelss and sell them to get lots of Gald.
In Tekkial'a at the earth temple at the bottom of the bridges, you will break and find treasures. At the bottom is a dragon creature. Each time you kill him you will get 10,000 Gald. He as 10,000 HP with an attack of 1200 and defense of about 400, However, he is easy to defeat with Raine.
Once you get Zelos into your party, flag him as the avatar (the person who walks around) by scrolling over his picture and pressing Circle. When Zelos talks to any female NPC (even shop owners), he will get free items or Gald. They will give you different items and different amounts of Gald each time you leave the city and return. Repeat this frequently to get good items. Note: They do not give Zelos weapons, armor, or accessories.
This can be done as early as possible in the game. When done early it is also good for experience. When you get to Ossa Trail, fight everything you can and use combos frequently. If you do well in the fight, you will get lots of Beast Fangs and Beast Hides, can be sold for 1,000 Gald each. Repeat this as many times as desired.
After you rebuild Luin, there will be a shop called "Fighting Spirit" All of the items there are like toys, but are all better than the items you probably have. Buy Sheena's weapon called "Money Bag" and equip it. Then, go to the dragon in the Temple Of Earth and fight it. When Sheena is in battle and you win, the Gald gets doubled because of her weapon.
Go to the gnome place. Go all the way to the bottom by using your earthquake from the ring you got at the beginning of the game. Once you are all the way at the bottom, take a right. You will see a flying dragon. Defeat it for 10,000 Gald. Then, go to the secret passageway on your left. Go back the way you came (back to the dragon) and defeat it again. Keep doing this as many times as desired.
Get the accessory that gives you twice as much Gald and Sheena's "fake" weapon, the Money Bag, which also gives you twice as much Gald. Optionally, have anyone with an EX Skill called Happiness, which allows someone to occasionally get more Gald or experience. Then, fight the Dragon in the Earth Temple at the bottom of the bridges. It should be easy to defeat it late in the game. This results in
20,000 to 40,000 Gald each time. With the Happiness EX Skill, you can get from 21,000 to 41,000 Gald.
Hint #5: Finding Lyla:
If you go north from izoold without doing two things to get on the boat it will cause the boat to disappear. However, you are not stuck. You will find the girl again, but you must do other things first. This is also an opportunity to get Sheena. This will require a lot of leveling up, but is worth it. There are also two seals that can be opened. You must go to Himma and tell the woman that you are Sheena's friend. This will get you started towards getting Sheena. Luin will be attacked by the Desians and you must save it. You must save the girl being sacrificed to the fake Wind Guardian. Then, open that seal. You can also go
through the Tower Of Mana and release a seal. After doing everything that you can, you should have Sheena in your party and the boat and Lyla will be in Izoold, ready for you. You much more powerful than you actually need to be to do everything needed in Palmacosta and the surrounding areas.
Hint #6: Fight a Bacura:
To fight a Bacura, the big solid Mana blocks in the Toize Mines, go to the last room, where you get the ore. There will be a one-eyed monster in there. fight it. Sometimes it will be a couple of Stone Golems with some other monsters, and sometimes it will be a Bacura. Just run away if it is not a Bacura and re-encounter it. The Bacura has 255 HP and you can only drain one. Also, it
disappears after thirty seconds.
Instead of going into the Toize Valley Mines to get to a Bacura battle, go to the SE Abbey. Go on the wide path outside of the abbey and fight a monster there.
Hint #7: Fight against Aviation:
Get all nine Darkness Weapons and go to the Darkness Temple to fight Aviation.
Hint #8: Fight against Seles:
To fight Seles (Zelos' sister), go to the Meltokio arena after you get the emblem from Derris-Kharlan. Complete beginner and intermediate modes to unlock advanced mode. Complete advanced mode twice with any character to fight Seles in an extra match. By winning the match you will get Zelos' best weapon, the Last Fencer.
Hint #9: Fight against Garr, Meredy, and Farah:
In order to fight Garr, Meredy, and Farah from the previous Tales Of Destiny games, get near the end of the game when you have to defeat the dark dragon just before the ultimate battle against Mithos. Leave Derris Kharlan after obtaining the Derris Emblem. You will now be able to participate in the coliseum tournaments. After winning the advanced single tournament you will be able to participate in party tournaments. Win the beginner tournament and you will be able to fight in the advanced tournament. Before fighting the advanced tournament, set the difficulty on "Mania". Win the advanced tournament and you will have to fight an unexpected exhibition match against Garr, Meredy, and Farah. Note: You will be able to use items.
Hint #10: Curry Recipe:
After you have met Altessa, leave then go back to his house this time with Zelos as your on-screen character. If you see Tabatha standing by the stove, talk to her. Lloyd will then appear as the on-screen character. Follow through the sequence that plays and she will teach you the recipe for curry, a dish that you cannot learn from the Wonder Chef. If this does not work the first time, then go back a short time later.
Hint #11: Devils Arms:
The Devils Arms are a set of cursed weapons you can find that appear to have very little attack power. However, after you defeat Abyssion in the Darkness Temple, try equipping them to defeat a monster. Each time they are used to kill a monster, they will become more powerful. These weapons can become the most powerful weapons in the game if you have the patience to battle with them.
The Devil's Arms are powerful weapons hidden around Tethe'alla and Sylvarant. They can surpass any other weapon and do over 2,500 damage per hit. It takes some work to get them. First, in the Mine where you get Inhibitor Ore, check the pieces of the Bakura after you smash it to get the "Evil Eye". Take it to Flanoir and show it to a dark-haired man in the front of the town, at the foot of the building named Abyssion. He will give you access to the other weapons. He will give you Lloyd's weapon. Go to the Gaoracchia Forest and you will find a dark chest. It contains Zelos' weapon. The next is in the Earth Temple. You must gather the five gnomes. They will let you pass (one of the gnomes is at Altessa's house). You will find Sheena's weapon in the chest that they were blocking. Next, go to Altamira's night life and travel to the casino. There will be a bridge nearby, and halfway across is a man that will sell you Genis' weapon for 1,000 gald. To get the next weapon, go to Triet and talk to two of the men
near the oasis. Leave and search the desert for a skit point on the west side of the mountain. Trigger it and you will fight a Sandworm. Defeat it to get another of Zelos' weapons. You will find Presea's weapon in Latheon Gorge. Go to Welgaia to find Regal's weapon. Return to Flanoir and speak to Abyssion again. Go to Hakonesia Peak to receive Raine's weapon. You now have every weapon. Travel to the Temple of Darkness and go down to the seal. Abyssion will be waiting. He takes the weapons and transforms into a powerful Boss with 120,000 HP. Defeat him and you will get the "Devil's Arms" in their true form. The more enemies that your character defeats, the more power your weapons have. Presea will also receive the title "Empty Soul". Transfer your Battle Info to retain the power if you wish to start a new game.
Hint #12: Falcon Crest:
When Lloyd is low on health (health is in the red) and has the weapon "Material Blade" equipped, he can use a secret tech called the Falcon Crest. To use this tech, press Circle + X + Square. Note: Lloyd must have the title "Eternal Swordsman" in use when attempting this tech.
Hint #13: Last Fencer:
In order for this trick to work, you must have already fought Seles with Zelos, then have gone on to fight Zelos later in the Tower of Salvation. Go through the Advance Class battles again with Lloyd. After you have received your prizes, Seles will return to the Arena and try to take revenge for her brother's death. If you defeat her, you get another Last Fencer and another item. You may need to face her after already going through Vinheim and getting the Sacred Stone; or have obtained the Derris Emblem.
Hint #14: Pink Pearl Ring:
Note: You must have Sheena in your party. After you drop off Presea in Ozette, go to Sybak. Beside the library will be a shop or two and a pile of junk. Go to the junk pile, and an intermission sequence will start. Follow along with the sequence. At the end you will receive a Pink Pearl Ring. which is listed as a valuable item. Note: The person you must talk to has black hair.
Hint #15: Opening the secret doors in the Seal Room of the Wind Temple:
Use the ring on the pin wheels in this order to open the door on the right side: red, green, yellow, white, blue. For the one on the left, it is: blue, red, yellow, white, green.
Hint #16: Have both Kratos and the Last Fencer:
Instead of waiting to get the Derris symbol to get into the Coliseum, you can go there immediately after the Flanoir doctor part by choosing to have Kratos in your party and going to the Coliseum just before the Cruxis raid to get the Last Fencer (the strongest sword in the game next to the Devil's Arms). The Last Fencer can also be equipped by Kratos.
Hint #17: Summon Spirit Maxwell:
In order to find the Summon Spirit Maxwell, you must first find the Derris Emblem in Derris-Kharlan (which is late in the game, near the end ). Then, go to Exire (Half-elves village ) and go to the house with a man inside. He is the person that says that a team of half-elves and humans is a rare combination. Go up the stairs in front of his house and walk around to get to the back, which leads to secret passage. Walk until you see a tombstone. Equip the Ring of Fire, Water, Earth, Wind (which are Ruby, Aquamarine, Opal, Garnet). Then, you will fight Maxwell. He has 60,000 HP (easy mode in the customize menu) or 90,000 HP (hard mode). He also knows strong level 3 magic spells such as Thunder Arrow, Raging Mist, and Meteor Swarm.
Hint #18: Get the locations of the enemies in your Monster List:
Have Raine use a Magic Lens on an enemy. That will fill the "Location" part of the enemy profile in the Monster List.
Hint #19: Colette: Maid costume:
After defeat the Dark Dragon and going through the door, go into the castle in Meltokio and find two maids facing each other. Talk to them and an intermission sequence will begin where Colette runs errands for a rich woman. After this, you will receive 100 Gald and the title: Maid, which lets you wear a maid costume.
Hint #20: Genis: Alternate costume:
After you defeat the Dark Dragon and go through the doors in Mithos' Castle, go back to Meltokio. Go to the slums and you will find a boy chasing a Kats. Genis will follow the boy and the Kats will get away. Afterwards, talk to the Kats in the item shop near the secret entrance. He will tell you to talk to the elder in Kats Village in Sylvarant. When you talk to the Elder Kats, he will give Genis a Kats costume. You will have to return to the slums. After that, watch the intermission sequence and Genis will keep the Kats costume.
Hint #21: Lloyd: Easy Comboist title:
Make a party with at least Lloyd, Genis, and Raine. Raine must know Ray and Genis must at least know Explosion, Tidal Wave, Cyclone, Indignation, or Ground Dasher. Perform a Unison Attack on any enemy using Raine's Ray, one of the above mentioned spells for Genis, and any attack from Lloyd. If done correctly, after the characters perform their individual attacks Raine and Genis will perform Prism Stars, causing at least 1,200 damage and 30 hits with Lloyd and another character adding even more hits. It is possible to score 72 hits using this technique with Lloyd performing Raining Tiger Blade. You can also use this to do a lot of damage to Bosses.
At a certain level about 30 to 50, Genis and Raine will get their advance attacks. Before using Unison attack, have a few combos. Then, use Raine's Ray Attack and Genis' Cyclone, Explosion, Ground Dasher, or Indignation. This may require a few attempts. After the Unison attack. Raine and Genis will fuse their attacks and make a new attack called Prism Stars. This will take a thirty hit combo. If done correctly, you will get a sixty hit combo, and at the end of the battle the message "Lloyd's new title combo expert" will appear. This is recommended through the entire game until you get your last title at Derris
Karhlan (end of game).
Hint #22: Lloyd: Combo master title:
To obtain this title you must perform a 100 hit combo. To do this easily have both Colette and Lloyd in the party. Lloyd must know either Sword Rain: Alpha or Sonic Sword Rain. Colette must know Hammer Rain together in unison attack. Their attack will become Stardust Rain. If you use this against a very large enemy such as the Dragon, the Gold Dragon, or the Dark Dragon, it will hit them approximately 85 times. Add that to the combos you had before and you should be well over 100. At the end of the battle Lloyd will get the title, Combo Master, which is his best title except for the one he can get in Derris-Kharlan.
Hint #23: Lloyd: Better combo:
Press X + Forward, X(2). This will result in four hits instead of the standard three. If you have the "Add Combo" Ex skill on, press X + Forward, X + Down, X(2). This will result in five hits instead of four. Follow this with a hit heavy combo such as Sword Rain-Tiger Rage-Tempest Beast or Sword Rain Beast to maximize your combo rating.
Hint #24: Lloyd: Alternate costume:
After you save Pietro and Luin is destroyed, you can give money to build the city back. This requires more than 500,000 Gald. When you donate money, do not give away more than 70,000 Gald at a time. When you donate enough money, Pietro will tell you that he is going on a journey. After this, go to the pier where the boat is at in Luin. You will see Aifread. Talk to Aifread and buy the boat for 3,000 Gald. Leave the town, re-enter, and talk to him again. Answer "Yes" to his question to get Lloyd's alternate pirate costume.
After you defeat the Dark Dragon and go through the doors in Mithos' Castle, go back to Altamarina. You will find a lady who has lost her children. Answer "Yes" to her question and find all of her children. After that, she will leave a gift at the hotel. They will be swimsuits. It will say that someone is waiting for Lloyd when he is dressed up. Note: Save before you talk to the manager so you know what swimsuits to get.
Hint #25: Presea: Alternate costume:
After you defeat the Dark Dragon and go through the doors in Mithos' Castle, go back to Altamarina Then, go to the Larzeno Company and into the president's office. Talk to the old man and you will get the "Klonoa Costume".
Hint #26: Presea: Stuffed Bunny axe:
Get the title "Little Madam" from the Dance Party sub-event and purchase the Axe "Pow Hammer DX" from Luin after rebuilt. Equip both the title and axe and fight numerous battles. Have Presea in your team fighting. If done correctly the axe will randomly turn into a pink bunny with a blue vest for one battle, but that you can do many times over. After the battle when Presea uses the stuff bunny, the axe will turn back to its original form. It may take many battles before it turns into the stuffed bunny.
Hint #27: Raine: Alternate costume:
After you Defeat the Dark Dragon and go through the doors in Mithos' Castle, go back to Asgard and run to the Ruins all the way up. The people of Asgard will want Raine to perform the ritual again, and she will keep the Maiden costume.
Hint #28: Regal: Alternate costume:
After you defeat the Dark Dragon and go through the doors in Mithos' Castle, go back to Meltokio. Run all the way to the church where you will find two Wonder Chefs. Run up to them, and you will find both of them arguing about an "ultimate recipe". Then the original Wonder Chef will disappear, and you will have a cook off with the other chef. You automatically win. Soon after, the original wonder chef will appear again and give Regal his "Wonder Chef" costume.
Hint #29: Sheena:
You must be at least level 25 to get Sheena.
Hint #30: Sheena: Alternate costume:
After you go to Mithos' Castle and open the door after you defeat the dark dragon, go to Mizuho. Talk to the person in the chief's house. Go to the Lightning Temple and talk to the spirit of the chief at the altar where you fought Volt. Go back to Mizuho and the chief will wake up. He will ask for Sheena to spend a day at Mizuho. When you return, you will see that Sheena has been chosen for the next chief, and you will get Sheena's alternate chief costume.
Hint #31: Zelos: Alternate costume:
After you Defeat the Dark Dragon and go through the doors in Mithos' Castle, go back to Meltokio. Go to Zelos' Mansion. Girls will be there, talking to Zelos in a mini-skit. After the skit he will wear a mask to get away from the girls.
Hint #32: Zelos: Roses:
In order for Zelos to have roses, you must have Zelos' Narcissist title and the Devil's Arm "Fafnir". Equip them both at the same time. Fight a few battles and eventually his dagger will turn into a few roses. After the battle, Zelos' roses will disappear.
Hint #33: Zelos: Getting good items:
The items that Zelos charms from females using his Personal EX Skill is dependent on his luck rating, which changes every time he talks to a female. You can increase his chances of getting good items (for example, Energy Tablets, Hourglass, Rune Bottle) by equipping him with two Rabbit's Feet. These can be bought in Luin. It is a good idea to buy them early, before you meet Zelos, to get a head start on the item collecting.
Hint #34: Defeating the Dragon Knight:
Use the following trick to defeat the Dragon Knight in advanced mode in the coliseum with Genis and Raine. Wait until it flies up into the air, then run underneath it. If you are lucky, the dragon will land on you, and you should be able to cast spells without having to worry about getting hit. Try to use spells that do not make the enemy move to the left or right (Photon with Raine; Lightning, Thunder Blade, or Indignation with Genis). This could also be applied to Zelos or Kratos if you are having trouble with them.
Hint #35: Defeating the Phantom Knight:
To defeat Phantom Knight, a powerful monster in Derris-Kharlan, you must equip the Diamond, which you get from Origin, to your lead character. After this is done, only your lead character can cause melee damage to it, unless you use a union attack against it and it will take damage.
Hint #36: Defeating Seles:
You will receive Zelos' Last Fencer Sword and the Elemental Circlet no matter who you use to fight Seles. Lloyd is recommended for this job, because of his high HP and Str. Use the Material Blade or the Ninja Sword. At the start of the fight she almost always casts Freeze Needles. She also uses Absolute and has her own Sword Skills using the Last Fencer as weapon. To avoid damage from her magic skills use Guardian when she casts Freeze Lancer. Use Back Jump (X + Away) when she casts Absolute. Try using Tiger Sword Rain when you get close to her, then use Back Jump to avoid her close-range attacks (the Last Fencer or a bag attack). If you keep using this strategy she will die quickly. She has 12,000 HP.
Hint #37: Defeating Garr, Farah Oersted and Meredy:
This may be one of the most difficult battles in the game. You can only use three characters in Party Tournaments, so choose well. Garr is not so strong as he appears. His only advantage is his long range bow attack. His best Bow Skill is Gale, during which he shoots about five arrows at once. However he also has sword attacks. Defeat him after dealing with the girls. You must start with Meredy. Keep in mind that you must defeat her very quickly, because you cannot interrupt her magic casting. She use the most powerful spells, including Absolute, Explosion, Holy Lance and even Meteor Storm. She may sometimes also cast Grave, Freeze Lancer and Acid Rain. Also, she will automatically revive once you kill her, so you must kill her again. Farah is who you should fear the most. Her attacks are the strongest in the party, and she has skills such as Swallow Dance, Eagle Dive, Twin Palm Strike and the powerful Chi with Maximum Burst. Once she hits you with the Chi, she will link a powerful attack where she
launches another three Chi Attacks. Use the following strategy while you (as Lloyd) fights Meredy alone, and have the other two take care of Farah and Garr. Go into this battle with your Gels and Life Bottles to the maximum. Do not worry about the Magic Lens. Even if you do not use, it will be registered in your Monster List, status and everything.
- Lloyd: Tiger Sword Rain (or any other Sword Rain skill) and Demonic Circle and Rising Falcon are what you will need to use the most. Skills that stagger opponents (such as Beast techniques) are useful against Meredy, as this will at least keep her in ground a few seconds so that you can heal yourself. Rising Falcon is a good choice to confuse your opponents, and to avoid Garr bow techniques and some of Meredy's magics.
- Zelos/Kratos: Healing techniques for support, and magics such as Thunder Blade or Air Thurst. As for the skill, Light Spear Cannon, Super Lighting Blade and Fierce Demon Fang. This character's function here is to keep Farah busy while you defeat Meredy twice. Kratos' Judgement may be useful if you have someone to protect him while he casts it.
- Regal: He is useful against Farah. Most of his skills are good in this battle. His function is the same as Zelos/Kratos, but use him to deal more damage to Farah.
- Presea: If you put her in battle, she may be useful to help you killing Meredy or perhaps serve as a human shield to protect a spell-caster character (if the third character is one).
- Colette: Not very useful, but if you want her in battle, Holy Song is essential as well Angel Feathers and perhaps Judgement. She will act as a supportive spell-caster. Have a tough character cover her while you deal with Meredy and Garr.
- Genis: Starts with mid-level magics (that inflicts regular damage and are quick casting). When the opponents are away dealing with the other two characters, use magics as Ground Dasher and Tidal Wave (that haves a wide area of hit), and to inflict most damage Explosion, Indignation and Meteor Storm.
- Raine: Healing and support is the only thing she will do, maybe one time or another casting Photon or Ray suits stop the enemies that are around. Try keep her the farthest you can from Garr.
Hint #38: Combos:
In a fight, press Forward + X, Forward + X, X, Sword Rain: Alpha (Sword Rain, Sonic Sword Rain, Sword Rain: Beta may also work), Hunting Beast (Raging Best also works). In this combo, you will stun the enemy, (or make the enemy fall and use time to stand up ), which gives you time to give to do extra damaging attacks to them and is also a good opportunity for spellcasters to cast quickly without being disturbed.
With Lloyd, press Forward + X, Forward + X, Forward + X, Swords Rain, Psi Tempest (while holding Forward), turn around (for a good position), Rising Falcon. This results in 12 hits, RF is the finisher.
With Lloyd, press Forward + X, Forward + X, X, Sword Rain, Sonic Thrust, Tempest, Fierce Demon Fang, Tempest Thrust or Tempest Beast or Hunting Beast. Note : Try equipping the Sardonyx (from Volt) or equip Shiden (sold in weapon shop in Mizuho) to make the Sonic Thrust into Lighting Thrust, giving extra damage once you execute Sonic thrust in the combo. Also, instead of using Tempest, you can also use Tiger Blade, and if you equip Sardonyx or Shiden it will turn to Lighting Tiger Blade for even more damage. Level 1 techs may be bad for damage, but the best tech for opening a combo or chaining from level 1 to level 3 techs, plus the level 1 techs contains most of Lloyd's special techs.
With Lloyd, press X + Forward, X, X, Super Sonic, Sword Rain, Sword Rain, Tiger Blade. This results in a combo of at least 20 hits if you can push the enemy up against the edge of the field.
Once your gauge is full, choose a target and use Lloyd's basic attack 3x combo and follow up with Sword Rain. As soon as the last strike hits, unleash the Unison attack. To make it easy, have all their abilities set to the same direction. By this time you will already have twelve hits from Lloyd alone and any other hits from your allies. After your team unleashes all their attacks, Genis and Raine unleash a Duo attack called Prism Stars that hits thirty times. It is possible to get a max combo of 89 with this move.
Hint #39: Recommended level:
When fighting through the first ruins towards the Seal of Fire, it is recommended that you get to at least level 13 for each character. If not, the battle with the Boss will either require an absolutely brilliant strategy or result in the death of your party. Also, make sure that Genis has his skills set to only Aqua Edge and/or Icicle if you have obtained that skill; otherwise he will waste TP using skills that will cause very little damage for the cost.
Hint #40: Recommended party:
It does not matter if you have Kratos or Zelos. They are not really different. They have the exact moves. They also both have Judgment. Zelos is recommended, because he will be able to have his strongest weapon, the Last Fencer. The party should have Lloyd with the weapon that you get from the last sword dancer, Colette with the Angel's Halo her arena weapon. Note: Use Colette, as the enemy you are going to fight is very big. She can do her unison with Lloyd's Stardust Rain. This can result in 112 hits if used on the biggest enemy in the game, The Living Armor. To use it, Colette must use Hammer Rain and Lloyd Sword Rain: Alpha. If you are fighting a small Boss, have Genis and his arena weapon instead, Zelos and his best weapon Last Fencer, and if he has Judgment, use it for unison. His Judgment is his best attack. If you used it at least fifty times, he can randomly use Angel's Judgment (a very strong Judgment that hits over thirty times before an angel appears and does about fifteen more hits; Kratos can also do this). Raine is a must have for any party. She is the best healer in the game.In the unison, have her use Ray if Genis is there. If not, get her to the S side and have her learn Holy Lance.
Hint #41: Getting into the Wind Seal Room:
In Asgard, when sealing the Wind Seal, it is difficult to get into the Seal Room. Light the two lamps next to each other to open a secret room, which has mini pinwheels in the room. Around the entire Asgard ruin there are tablets on the walls, but you cannot read them unless you light the lamps around the tablets, with the original form of the Sorcerer's Ring. When you read the two of them that say something about jewels, and the one that says the cycle of power through the Earth, Gods, and Wind Spirit, it is easy to get into the Seal Room. The Ruby is the red pinwheel, the Pearl is the white pin wheel, the Topaz is the yellow pinwheel, the Wind Spirit is the blue pinwheel, and the Emerald is the green pin wheel.
In order to get into the Wind Seal room, you must make the pinwheels spin in the correct order. The order is red, yellow, green, white, blue. After spinning it in the correct order, a door in the back will open.
Hint #42: Visiting Corrine after death:
After you defeat the Dark Dragon and go through the doors in Mithos' Castle, go back to Iselia. There will be a little skit with Sheena hearing Corrin's voice. After that, go to the Temple of Martel. Go to where you first met the Angel. You will see Corrine in his true form (Verius), but you will not be able to summon him.
Hint #43: Lloyd's mother:
To do this you must have Kratos in your party. After you get the Derris Emblem in Derris-Kharlan, go to Luin. Once there, examine all of the statues except for Lloyd's. After that, examine Lloyd's statue. This will trigger a conversation between Lloyd and Kratos and you will find out a little bit about Lloyd's mother and Luin.
Hint #44: Fighting Zelos:
Get to the poing you are in Flanoir and Lloyd is talking to Zelos when your about to leave (when you are there to see the doctor). If Lloyds says "Can I trust you?" you will have to fight Zelos. However if Lloyd says "I trust you", then you will not. An easy way to decide is to save the game before you enter Flanoir. Go through the scenes, then see what Lloyd says. It may differ on who you talk to the night before, and it changes occasionally when you talk to Zelos.
Hint #45: Arena weapons:
When you reach Mithos' Castle, defeat the Dark Dragon and open the door. Go through the door, but do not go through the teleporter to Mithos. After you have opened the door and gone through it, go back to Meltokio. Go to the arena and fight in advanced mode with any character to get a personal arena weapon for
Hint #46: Bigger enemies:
After returning from the scene where you save Genis and Raine from the soldiers by the Tethe'alla Bridge, you can go to Meltokio. However, you cannot go through the gate. Go into the Meltokio Sewer. Eventually you will see the pedestal that allows you to change the Sorcerer's Ring function. Change the function and use the Sorcerer's Ring to shrink yourself. Then, get into a battle. The rats will be bigger, and will deal more damage. Note: It should still work if you have already completed the sewer.
Hint #47: Special abilities:
The following special abilities are either difficult to get or can only be activated when certain conditions are met.
- Lightning Thrust: Equip Sardonyx, use Sonic Thrust 200 times.
- Lightning Tiger: Equip Sardonyx, use Tiger Blade 200 times.
- Grave Blade: Equip Ruby, use Fierce Demon Fang 200 times.
- Rising Phoenix: Equip Garnet, use Rising Falcon 200 times.
- Falcon's Crest: Have the title "Eternal Swordsman" equipped, have "Material Blade" equipped, have health in the red zone, and have 100 TP available. Circle, X, and Square.
- Toss Hammer: Use Pow Hammer 200 times; random chance of happening.
- Ice Hammer: Equip Sapphire, use Pow Hammer 200 times.
- Holy Judgment: Use Judgment and Holy Song 50 times each; random chance of happening.
- Indignant Judgment: Use Indignation 50 times, then use again in Over Limit.
- Grave Blade: Equip Ruby, use Fierce Demon Fang 200 times.
- Grave Blade: Equip Ruby, use Fierce Demon Fang 200 times.
- Super Swallow Dance: Equip Opal, use Swallow Dance 200 times.
Note: Lightning Thrust, Lightning Tiger, Grave Blade, Rising Phoenix, Ice
Hammer, and Super Swallow Dance do not have to be done 200 times with the
appropriate item equipped. They only need to be done 200 times, and then have
the item equipped.
Hint #48: Attack attributes:
After receiving special items from the Summon Spirits, you can change your weapon's element in order to deal more damage to some enemies. For example, using Water against a Fire-type enemy. Incidentally, some of these allow special techniques once conditions are met. Refer to the "Special abilities" hint for details.
- Amethyst: Attack Element turns to Darkness.
- Aquamarine: Attack Element turns to Water.
- Garnet: Attack Element turns to Fire.
- Opal: Attack Element turns to Wind.
- Ruby: Attack Element turns to Earth.
- Sapphire: Attack Element turns to Ice.
- Sardonyx: Attack Element turns to Lightning.
- Topaz: Attack Element turns to Light.
Hint #49: Pac-Man reference:
In Flanoir near the Weapon shop are three ice statues. One of them is Pac-Man.
Hint #50: Klonoa reference:
A Klonoa reference can be found in the Presea's Dream Traveler title that you get from George in Altimira (near the end of the game).
Hint #51: Final Fantasy 7 reference:
In the slums in Meltolkio a solider is looking for a cute flower girl in the slums, which is a reference to Aeris in Final Fantasy 7.
Hint #52: Titanic reference:
In Palmacosta on the ship by the town square, there are people on the front imitating the famous scene from Titanic.
Hint #53: Fight against Aviation
Get all nine Darkness Weapons and go to the Darkness Temple to fight Aviation.
Hint #54: After you've obtained the sacred stone key item in Mithos's castle, go to Sybak, and examine the weird red book with an exsphere in one of the bookshelves at the library, then go to Heimdall and talk to the man near the windmill, after that, go back to Sybak and check the red book again, you will then enter the cursed book of niflheim, the most difficult dungeon in the game.
Hint #55: Tech glitch:
Tech glitch allows you to have T-type and S-type techs at the same time.
This is how it works: (for example)
1. Put Lloyd to the first place of your party and set Genis' Eruption to Lloyd's C-stick shortcut.
2. Switch Lloyd out of your party.
3. Have Genis forgot his Eruption and switch him to S-type. Then battle until he learns Flame Lance.
4. Switch Genis back to T-type.
5. Save the game! (Do not save or look at the tech list after this)
6. Now put Lloyd back to the first place of your party.
7. Go to battle and use that Eruption shortcut with Lloyd. Genis must relearn Explosion during this battle, if not, Eruption shortcut from C-stick is gone.
8. And if you didn't succeed, repeat from the step 5. If you succeed you have now both Genis' Explosion and Flame Lance.
Hint #56: See Corrine in his true form:
After Corrine has already died and you have defeated the Dark Dragon and walked through the doors in Mitho's Castle, go all the way back to Iselia. Once there you should see a skit involving Sheena hearing Corrine talking to her. After that go to the Temple Of Martel. Once there go to the place where you first met the angel. When you enter the area you should see a secret scene with Corrine in his true form.
Hint #57: Maxwell, the Summon Spirit of Birth:
Go to Exire. Go behind elder's house (it looks same as the other houses but it's above few steps). Walk forward a narrow path until you arrive to a grave-looking stone. Equip Ruby, Aquamarine, Opal and Garnet to your first four characters and then examine the stone.
Maxwell:
HP: 60 000 TP: 800
EXP: 10 800 Gald: 8250
Strengths: none
Weaknesses: none
Techs: Dreaded Wave, Raging Mist, Gravity Well, Meteor Storm
This is a king of all Summon Spirits and you must have a Derris Emblem to battle him. When he uses Meteor Storm, use guard tech three times to guard it. You can evade other techs like normally. Maxwell isn't very hard, so this battle shouldn't be a problem. Recommended level for this is 60-65.
Hint #58: Kratos' training sessions:
You can activate scenes where Kratos trains Lloyd. You can activate those by doing these things:
1. When you arrive to Palmacosta, talk to a soldier on the right side of Dorr's building.
2. When you've defeated the Windmaster and you get Raine back to your party, go to an inn where you have to pay 400 Gald per night.
3. After you escape from Asgard ranch and you go to Luin, go to that part of the town where was the inn. Talk to a man who stands outside a broken house.
4. In Hima, before you're going to the Tower of Salvation, talk to Kratos two times.
You have to activate first to do second, second to do third and third to do the last.
Hint #59: Infinite Elixers:
Elixers is the godly medicine because it restores 100% HP and TP for a character. There is a way to obtain a max amount of these. Every time you beat Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced class in the Meltokio Colloseum, you will get one Elixer. Repeat Beginners class to save time over and over until you have max Elixer.
Hint #60: Infinite All-divides:
You can get so many All-divides you can carry. Here's the description how to get them:
1. Go to fight Fake. You can find fakes from three different places. Triet Ruins: When you enter there, go left and then north. There's a treasure chest and it's Fake. Meltokio Sewers: Very near the end. You can't miss it. Latheon Gorge: When you enter the cave, there's a tresure chest very near the entrance.
2. Make sure Colette is in your party and has elemental weapon or gem.
3. Use Item Thief/Rover to stole an All-divide.
4. Make sure you don't kill the Fake. If you do, that Fake is gone and doesn't come back.
5. Escape from the battle.
6. Enter it again and repeat this.
This way you can get so many All-divides as you want or you can carry. You can steal an All-divide from Fake as many times as you want. Just make sure Colette has elemental weapon/gem equipped and Fake doesn't die.
Hint #61: Free Money and Items:
Though Zelos may be incredibly vain and idiotic, he does have a way with the ladies. Make Zelos your onscreen avatar, have his Personal EX Skill equipped, then talk to any of the female townspeople that you meet during your travels. They'll usually give you some Gald or an item.
Hint #62: Red Light, Green Light Glitch:
When playing Red Light, Green Light in Tethe'alla, press Start when the Sea-Katz begin to turn around. You'll be asked if you want to quit. Select no, and when you go back to the game, Genis will be standing still regardless of whether or not he was in the middle of a move. This is a cheap, easy way to ensure that you never get caught by the Sea-Katz when he turns around.
Hint #63: Long Distance Hurricane/Lightning
This glitch works for Kratos, Zelos, and Lloyd
Have the character use Demon Fang from far away. Before the Demon Fang hits, link it to any of these moves:
Hurricane Thrust, Lightning Thrust, Lightning Blade, Super Lightning Blade
The moment Demon Fang hits the target, the lightning and/or hurricane will hit the target. Even if you have completely missed that tech.
Hint #64: Katz Village Glitch/Free Inn:
Once you have the Rheairds and can use them anytime,go to the Katz Village. If you talk to the Katz who asks you if you want to sleep say "Yes".He says it's only 50 Gald a night, but if you look at you Gald afterword, you didn't spend any money. This is really good if you want to be fully healed with no cost.
Hint #65: Infinite Combo Glitch:
Any fighter characters who have magic abilities can do this. I'll use Kratos as an example:
1. Set any of Kratos' tech to a magic skill. I recommend forward B
2. Make sure he can link magic after his last hit
3. In battle, find an enemy you won't do much damage on
4. Have Kratos do as many swings as he can, holding the forward button
5. Right after his 3rd or 6th hit, still holding forward, press B
6. IMMEDIATELY cancel the spell (X) and IMMEDIATELY press A again
7. Don't let go of forward. It helps a lot if you're holding forward and doing this
It'll take a few tries to get this. You have to be super fast in your fingers or it won't connect.
There is an easy way, however. Change your controls so that R is spell cancel/defend. In battle, before anything, hold the R button. Attack 3 or 6 times, cast the spell. The spell will immediately cancel, so start slashing again.
Hint #66: God Mode:
Alright, I found a glitch in ToS, to make yourself completely invincible. To do it, follow the instructions below:
Go into a battle with low HP, and are able to use a unison attack IMMEDIATELY
Now, just as you get hit and loose your remaining HP, quickly unleash your unison attack. Your timing must be perfect.
Now, the character who unleashed the U. Attack will continue the attack with 0 HP, and when the unison attack ends, your character will continue to fight, with 0 HP. You will still take damage from monsters, they just cannot kill you. I dunno if they fixed this for the PS2 version, but thanks to it, I was able to destroy Shadow (The summon spirit) single handedly with Lloyd (To bad Kratos is gone at that time). Also, if you have a healer on your team, MAKE SURE IT DOES NOT HEAL!!! The healer will bring back your HP, and you'll have to do it all over again. Make sure you have characters alive who are not in your attack team, because after the battle, your fighting team will die. If your against a boss you think is invincible, think again!
Hint #67: Getting two Gaia Cleavers:
You can easily get two of the most powerful weapon for Presea, the Gaia Cleaver. When you are able to get it (after level 80 or when Presea has learned all of her techs in the tree you chose) go to Ozette again and speak to the man next to Presea's dad's grave. He'll give you the Gaia Cleaver. Now, without living that screen, equip it on Presea from the new items menu (not always works from the equip menu) and talk to the man again. He'll give you another Gaia Cleaver
Hint #68: Free Kendama:
If you begin the Devil's Arm Quest, After a few Devil's Arm's, go to Altimira and sleep at the inn. Say yes that you want to go out at night. Head to the Casino Area. Go on the bridge and you will see a young man. He says he will sell you a kendama for 1,000 Gald. Say yes and then check your Gald. You actually spent 0 Gald!
Hint #69: Eternal Sword Glitch:
You can wield the Eternal Sword but still have another sword equipped on Lloyd.
Step-by-step
1.Have Lloyd cast Falcons Crest (secret tech) by pressing and holding block (default X), attack (default A), and then tech (default B).
2.While casting a enemy must kill you the easiest way to do this is die and have Sheena cast Purgatory Seal on you so you have no HP then use Falcon's Crest.
3.When you are revived after dying during Falcon's Crest you should be wielding the Eternal Sword.
Hint #70: Easy Gigolo title:
To easily get the Gigolo title for Zelos, return to Meltokio after receiving the Spider Figurine, Chipped Dager, and Mirror Shard, but before picking up the Derris Emblem. Make Zelos your on screen character and go to his house, then talk to the butler to get the title. You would otherwise have to have Zelos hit on every female NPC in the game to get this title, but this way you don't have to flirt at all.
Hint #71: Pac-Man"
In the top-left corner of Flanoir, there are three statues. Look closely, and you can see that one of them is of Namco's oldest mascot, Pac-Man!
Hint #72: Cameos From Other 'Tales' Games:
After clearing 'Party Advanced Level' in the arena, there will be an Exhibition match with characters from other Tales games, and they are Garr, Farah Oersted and Meredy.
Hint #73: Bacura!
In Toize valley mine you will find an white square as an enemy. That is Bacura the invincible block of Xevious, Namco's famous game( released in 1982)!!
Hint #74: Unlocking the Secret Techs:
Aside from the normal T and S type techs that are achieved through intuitive means, there are secret techs that can only be attained by completing certain tasks. The following is a list of all such techs.
Colette's Holy Judgemnt: Use Judgement and Holy Song 50 times each (learning the skill is random; keep using the required techs until she learns Holy Judgement).
Colette's Ice Hammer: Use Pow Hammer 200 times with ice weapon equipped.
Colette's toss hammer: Use pow hammer at least 200 times. When you use it thereafter, it has a chance of becoming a toss hammer, which can poison enemies.
Genis's Indignant Judgement: Use Indignation 50 times, then use Indignation when Genis is in Over Limit.
Kratos's Grave Blade: Use Fierce Demon Fang 200 times with earth weapon equipped.
Lloyd's Falcon's Crest: Equip the "Eternal Swordsman" title, equip the Material Blade, and when Lloyd is in Critical status, press X, A, and B (requires 100 Tech Points).
Lloyd's Grave Blade: Use Fierce Demon Fang 200 times with earth weapon equipped.
Lloyd's Lightning Thrust: Use Sonic Thrust 200 times with lightning weapon equipped.
Lloyd's Lightning Tiger: Use Tiger Blade 200 times with lightning weapon equipped.
Lloyd's Rising Phoenix: Use Rising Falcon 200 times with fire weapon equipped.
Regal's Super Swallow Dance: Use Swallow Dance 200 times with wind weapon equipped.
Zelos's Grave Blade: Use Fierce Demon Fang 200 times with earth weapon equipped.
Hint #75: Unlocking all of the secret Unison Attacks:
When the Unison Gauge is full in battle, you will be able to let loose Unison Atacks that allow all four party members to let loose one tech each. If two characters within the sequence use the right teachs, a secret Unison Attack can occur after the basic Unison Attack is complete. The following is a list of all of the game's secret Unison Attacks and the necessary techs and characters that unlock them.
Note that the timing or placement of the tech inputs are not important. So long as the right techs appear within the Unison Attack sequence, the secret Unison Attack will occur afterwards regardless. Also note that even though every secret Unison Attack has more than one tech combination for unlocking it, this table only lists one tech combination for each of them. Regardless of which techs you use to unlock the secret Unison Attacks, you only get one version of each secret Unison Attack anyway.

Hint #76: Unlocking all of Lloyd's Secret Titles:

Hint #87: Game Record:

Hint# 88: Grade Shop:
After clearing the game once, load the clear data, then you will be able to buy stuff such as Max HP Increase, Exp*10, Exp*2 with Grade.
Hint #89: Mania Difficulty:
To unlock the 'Mania' difficulty, simply beat the game once.
Hint# 90: Sound Test (Japanese Version):
To unlock 'Sound Test' at the title, simply beat the game once.
Hint #91: If you have some spare time after you come back from your first trip to Te'thealla, go near Iselia. Battle all sorts of monsters there, and you get around 1 grade each time.

Hint #92: If you have Colette as your icon (dude/dudette you walk around as), talk to every dog you can find. She'll name the dog. If you do, you get a title for Colette.
In Luin, she names a dog, Lucky. If you go to Luin in Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World, Lucky's still there!
--Thanks to "Zeles" for the tip/hint/secret
Hint #93: Every single toy-ish item you buy from Luin (after you've restored it. Do it by paying Pietro) is your character's second to best item. (Except for Lloyd, it's his third best sword/fans.)
--Thanks to "Zeles" for the tip/hint/secret
Hint #94: Even if you're level 50 or something, but you go and beat lame enemies (such as thugs, Sylvarant's witches, hares, monsters near Iselia, etc...) you can still get 1 or more grade if you beat them in a short period of time, and you didn't get damaged much.
--Thanks to "Sheena" for the tip/hint/secret
Hint #95: Battle a lot with a party that includes Kratos, Genis, and Collete. If you're lucky, you'll hear a hilarious victory dialogue after the battle.
Another funny victory scene occurs if you use Lloyd, Regal, and Presea.

Hint #96: If you fly to the underwater ranch area after the giant tree destroys palmacosta and all that, you can actually see the mana cannon out of the water in that area. (The mana cannon looks like a giant lighthouse...O.O)
